Baking soda: what is it for?
Baking soda is an alkaline product that can neutralize odors, degrease, and remove stains. How can you use baking soda for cleaning?
Cleaning the tiles
To clean your tiles, simply add a spoonful of baking soda to the juice of half a lemon and place the mixture in a spray bottle, shaking it.
After applying the product and leaving it to act for 5 minutes, wipe it with a damp sponge or cloth.
It is useful in the bathroom fixtures
To clean them, put a little bicarbonate of soda on a damp sponge and gently scrub the dishes. It is advisable to rinse and dry them well.
Cleaning kitchen utensils
When you are washing dishes by hand, you can add two tablespoons to the washing water, add your usual detergent and wash as normal.
This way, you avoid burnt stains on pans and the dishes from being easily scratched.
Goodbye drain odors
Baking soda with hot water has the ability to remove odors and even unclog drains: simply pour 4 tablespoons of baking soda down the drain and then about ½ cup of vinegar.
Clean floor
If you add half a cup of baking soda to a bucket of warm water, your floor will be clean.
Fat is not welcome
Grease is a daily problem not only in microwaves but also in ovens. However, with the help of baking soda this problem disappears easily as this helper combats grease, odors and the most difficult stains.
You can dissolve the product in hot water and spray it on the area to be cleaned. After wiping it with a cloth, dry the surfaces.
Removes odors from clothes
If you usually have clothes with strong odors, such as sweat, you can add 1 to 2 cups of baking soda to a container and soak the clothes. Then, wash the clothes as normal.
To remove mold, you can add about 200mL of cleaning vinegar and a spoonful of baking soda and spray it on the clothes.
In addition, it also helps to clean the washing machine together with cleaning vinegar. You can run a hot water cycle with 200mL of vinegar. One minute later, you can add 2 cups of baking soda and let the machine run the wash cycle.
Cleaning carpets and sofas
Cleaning carpets and sofas can be a simpler task: mix a liter of water, half a glass of cleaning vinegar, a spoonful of baking soda, a quarter of a glass of alcohol and a tablespoon of fabric softener.
Shake the mixture in a spray bottle, keeping in mind that the vinegar and baking soda produce a reaction when mixed. Spray and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, just let it dry and vacuum!
