When washing delicate baby clothes, it is important to take several factors into account so that the clothes are not damaged and, mainly, to prevent the baby from having allergic reactions, dermatitis and diaper rash on their skin.

In this article, all parents or future parents can learn tips for washing delicate baby clothes as well as washing reusable diapers.

What care is needed when washing delicate clothes?

Not only for baby clothes but also for more delicate clothes, such as silk and lace, the care to be taken during washing is even greater.

Check clothing labels

Before washing delicate clothing, it is important to carefully read the instructions on each item of clothing: whether it can be machine washed, what temperature is recommended, whether bleach can be used, among other aspects.

Choosing the right program

There are washing machines that have specific programs for delicate clothes or even baby clothes. You should choose one of these programs if your machine has it.

What to do about stains/stains?

It is important to confirm whether it is possible to use bleach on the item of clothing, as mentioned above.

If possible, for normally soiled clothes, just 1 tablespoon for every 5 kg of clothes in the detergent compartment or in the machine drum.

With some dirt you should add 2 tablespoons and, if it is necessary to soak, it is important to put 2 tablespoons in 4L of warm water (40ºC).

In addition to the whitener, can the softener be used?

When it comes to washing delicate baby clothes, we do not recommend using fabric softeners because, as they have a perfume that acts at the end of the wash, they can cause allergic reactions on the skin.

What is the best detergent for baby clothes?

With delicate clothes in mind, we launched the new delicate laundry detergent that helps combat bad odors and, as it does not contain enzymes or bleaching agents, it is ideal for delicate baby clothes, wool and silk.

And how to wash delicate clothes with this new detergent? Just add about 5-12 mL of detergent to the machine drawer for every kilo of dry clothes.

You can calculate the amount of detergent with the help of our digital dispenser and you can avoid touching the product with the help of the new dosing cap.

What is the appropriate temperature?

It is recommended that clothes be washed at 30 or 40ºC as this is hot enough to remove stains and dirt from clothes.

However, when the baby is sick, washing at a higher temperature can be beneficial to eliminate more resistant germs.

And how to wash reusable diapers?

The delicate laundry detergent is also suitable for washing reusable diapers: cycle very dirty clothes and put the detergent in the washing machine. In this case, you should also not use fabric softener as it is a product that limits absorption and can irritate your baby's skin.

At the end of the wash, you can choose to run an extra rinse program to remove any remaining detergent that may have remained on the diapers.
